Osmosis Solitaire

Layout

The Osmosis is a one-deck patience. The game is begun by dealing 4 cards to each reserve pile. One more card is dealt to the first foundation to determine the starting rank (Four in Figure). The remaining cards form the stock. The waste pile is under the stock.

Object

The object of the game is to move all the cards to the foundations.

Play

You can build each foundation in suit, regardless of rank. The cards of the starting rank must be played the first. Then you can play a card to the foundation only if the card of this rank has been already played to the foundation immediately above it.

It means that you can play any card in suit to the top foundation. To the second foundation, you can move only cards of the rank which are available in the top foundation, to the third — the cards which are available in the second foundation, etc. In Figure, you can move K to the first foundation, and 8 – to the second foundation.

The stock can be reused as many times as you want.
